Kalm and Ben La Rocco go back a ways, to their days writing for the
controversial Brooklyn Rail. In that time, La Rocco has engaged with
both the painting and critical worlds of the New York scene. Being a
witness to some of the most "advanced" art of his time. Using the ideas
that are floating around this influential art center, La Rocco employs
the materials and means that he finds at hand, for his artistic
investigations. James Kalm interviews the artist about his philosophy,
influences and techniques while walking through his latest one man
exhibition. Gabriel Angelo "MasterBlaster G" provides a musical
introduction. This program was recorded November 8, 2015 in Bushwick
