Hauschka's very first concert in Africa, which took place at the Goethe Institute Nairobi in May 2012.
Goethe-Institut Kenya has specialised on music co-operations and recording projects. The series comprises of German musicians such as Sven Kacirek, Stefan Schneider, Gebrüder Teichmann, Jahcoozi, Modeselektor, Jahcoustix and Nneka who cooperated and recorded with Kenyan musicians such as Just A Band, Ukoo Flani, Nazizi, Abbas, Eric Wainaina, Abbi, to name a few. In February 2012, Goethe-Institut Kenya invited the Düsseldorf-based pianist and composer Hauschka. In the studio-converted hall of Goethe-Institut and facilitated by Sven Kacirek, he cooperated and recorded with several Kenyan musicians, such as: Ayub Ogada, Ogoya Nengo, Christine Kamau, Just A Band etc. On this occasion, Hauschka performed a concert at the Goethe-Institut in Nairobi.
