Bushwhacking in Bushwick Spring 2015

The snow has finally melted, and the sun was out on this Sunday afternoon when James Kalm made a leisurely ride through the Bushwick nabes. Starting at INTERSTATE, viewers are brought along for a stroll through Chloe Seibert's "Who's He", a series of plaster wall sculptures and an installation of chain link fencing on the floor. From there it's on to visit the sculptural constructions of Sophie Hirsch at SIGNAL. These works employ plastic bubble wrap, PVC pipe, bungee cords and polycarbonate sheets, torqued and bound to produce graceful wall works. Finishing up, we'll take a walk through at TRANSMITTER of 6X6 featuring: Jeff Feld, Erik Shane Swanson, Lynn Sullivan, John Bohl, Skye Gilkerson and Sandra Ono. Next door, Debra Ramsay provides insights to her and Alex Paik's work in "Generative Processes" at TIGER STRIKES ASTROID.
