Photo Realism? James Kalm has
become aware of a new trend which takes the notion of photographic
fidelity to a different level of perception. Presenting paintings and a
series of drawings based on the distorted images of degraded video, Kon
Trubkovich tediously fabricates pictures that could be called digital
pointillism. Many of these works are based on a second of video taken
by his family before they left Moscow to immigrate to New York in the
mid 1990s.
