After a several decade career as a
committed abstractionist (albeit with personal quirks and whimsy),
Andrew Masullo has achieved national and international attention with
his inclusion in the 2012 Whitney Biennial, and with this one-man show
at Mary Boone Gallery. Developing a recognizable style which melds
formalist nonobjective design with the hot punchy color of Neo-Pop
graphics, Masullo has become an exemplary practitioner of the New
Abstraction.
