Working from a sculpture he'd
constructed rather than live models, Bickerton melds mediums to create
the pieces for this show. The "Mitochondrial Eve" theme is based on the
concept that there was one female humanoid, in East Africa, 100,000
years ago who passed on her bloodlines to all other humans. A musical
introduction is provided by "Up Up We Go" and was recorded live in
Washington Square Park.
