Sleeping in the Bee House ist wie eine Zugfahrt, eine Reise – angefangen in den nördlichen Gefilden des Hamburger Hafens und der Nordseeküste bis in die Landschaft der Schweizer Alpen. Das Duo “Princess and the Bear” haben beide auf ihre Art ein Stück ihres Herzens im Hafen verloren, doch die “steife Brise” wehte sie gemeinsam in die heimatlichen Berge zurück, wo sie auch ihr erstes Album aufnahmen. Sleeping in the Bee House verwandelt diese kraftvollen und manchmal auch rauhen Orte in unzählige, märchenhafte Bilder. Nicht nur die lyrischen Texte der Prinzessin verbreiten ein wohliges Gefühl der süßen Melancholie, auch die Leichtigkeit der Gitarre des Bären, das Akkordeon und Glockenspiel versetzen den Zuhörer in die mystischen Landschaften des Meeres und der Berge. Listening to Sleeping in the Bee House takes you onto a journey. The deep, lyrical and very magical lyrics of the Princess (Simone Schorro) tell the stories of being on inner and outer trips through different landscapes changing from moment to moment. As Princess and the Bear share a common history in the harbour of Hamburg and the mountains of central Switzerland – landscapes play an important role in their engine of inspiration. And that can be heard. Not only the lyrics carries the listener into a sweet melancholy, also the playful dialogue of the guitar (Michael Tobler), accordion and chimes make pictures of the fast passing clouds of the north become real. Sleeping in the bee house is an album that inspires to fall into that very mystical moment of finding out about ones own aspirations, surprising with some sort of „melancholic happiness“.
