VANDALISM ON THE BOWERY Vanessa Prager’s IN THE PINK Defaced

James Kalm, your humble reporter, is making the rounds on a Saturday night and viewing Vanessa Prager’s “In The Pink” at the HOLE on the Bowery. This is a very sensual exhibition with lots of thick, exuberant oil paint, which almost cries out to be touched. Unfortunately, one knuckle-head, whether due to unconstrained desire, or to just grab rude attention, stuck his hand into a painting swiped off pigment, and proceeded to rub the residue on walls, benches and columns. (Now I know why galleries are having interns standing guard over the paintings).
