James
Kalm slips into SoHo to catch a peak of the new West Broadway Gallery,
and bring viewers along for this prestigious debut. Establishing this
exhibition venue in his legendary loft space, in the heart of SoHo,
Jenny pairs his own framed and painted works with those of sculptor
Robert Lobe. Both artists have found their subject in the natural
environment of America's wilderness, which harkens back to traditions of
native transcendentalism. Jenny then gives viewers a behind the scenes
tour of his loft, his "corrected Picasso" paintings, the concept of
American Realism, and a brief history of the building, a former tobacco
warehouse and FLUXUS co-op. This program was recorded on January 17,
2016 in SoHo.
