James Kalm has seen the mosaics of
Jim Power around the East Village, particularly along St. Marks Place,
forever, but there was always a mystic and mystery around who, how and
why these surreptitious artworks were created. While out cruising the
East Village your correspondent happened upon the notorious "Mosaic Man"
installing his work. Your reporter captured a spontaneous interview
while he cemented tessera on a light pole at Tompkins Square Park. For
