Johnson Avenue Bushwick Gallery Crawl November 2017
James Kalm crawls through a trio of Bushwick Galleries located near or along Johnson Avenue on a Sunday afternoon in mid November 2017. Starting at Luhring Augustine, we slip in to take a glance at “Singles’ Mixer “a vignette from the large project “Day is Done”, by Mike Kelly. From there we slide around the corner to Johnson Avenue and visit “ABALON” a sculpture show by Jean-Marie Appriou, and “The Seasons”, a painting exhibition by Harold Ancart at Clearing. We conclude this tour by continuing down the Avenue to Signal and sauntering through “Peak Performance” a show by Rachel Rossin featuring three bodies of work: painting, sculpture, and aquarium-like augmented reality computers suspended in oil. This program was recorded November 12, 2017, in Bushwick Brooklyn.
