James Kalm has been caught up in the local art scene’s slip into summer. After receiving a plethora of pleading e-mails, your correspondent takes to the scorching streets of Brooklyn and heads to Bushwick to capture views of a pair of group shows. “Fritto Misto” at Clearing is an ambitious example of a “summer show” of mostly sculptural works. Featured artists include: Harold Ancart, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Huma Bhabha , Koenraad Dedobbeleer, Bruno Gironcoli, Marguerite Humeau, Zak Kitnick, Calvin Marcus, Marina Pinsky and Lili Reynaud-Dewar. Rolling on yet a few more blocks, James Kalm delivers viewers to Interstate Projects for a selection of three shows that starts in the courtyard, and winds its way into the basement. Again, perhaps not surprisingly, viewers will be treated to more expels of contemporary sculpture. We’ll see works by among others:Kristen Jensen, Alina Tenser, Rebecca Fin Simonetti, Paris Hynes, Clark Filio, Borna Sammak, Ann Hirsh, Corinna Helenelund, Lydia Ourahamane and Harry Sanderson. A musical introduction is provided by Domino. This program was recorded July 14, 2016 in Bushwick.
