James Kalm has been looking at the
work of John O'Conner for nearly ten years now, and is constantly
impressed and bemused. As one of the major practitioners of what Kalm
has classified as "Meta-drawing" , O'Conner and a small cadre of like
minded pencil pushers have expanded the concept of what a drawing can
be. "The Machine and the Ghost" presents the latest developments and
experiments in O'Conner's eccentric pursuit. This program begins with a
musical introduction by Colin Huggins, known as the "Washington Square
Piano Guy" recorded under the Arch.
