DENNIS HOLLINGSWORTH STUDIO VISIT

James Kalm declares “ATTENTION---PAINT-HEAD ALERT:” having been aware of the work of Dennis Hollingsworth for nearly a decade now, your correspondent has finally caught up with this intriguing painter for a studio visit. Pedaling to Brooklyn’s South Slope, viewers are invited to come along for a walking tour and explanation of his practice. Recently, James Kalm has been investigation the notion and legacy of “material painting” and its contemporary manifestation locally and in Los Angeles. Hollingsworth straddles both worlds, having moved to the Big Apple from LA in 2012. Dennis gives viewers a close up view of his process and narrates and shows examples of the development of his recent body of work.
