A VISIT TO FRIEZE ART FAIR NEW YORK 2017

James Kalm makes his yearly pilgrimage to Randall’s Island and the FRIEZE Art Fair. In this 2017 edition viewers can stroll along with your correspondent and take in a casual glimpse of what’s on offer from over two hundred international galleries. This event may provide a lens through which to analyze current artistic trends, and an overview of what modalities or careers are being reevaluated for the contemporary market. Although there’s no way to peruse more than a small number of these booths, some of the artists we’ll look at include: Keith Sonnier, Alfred Leslie, Judith Linhares and Jon Currin.
